The Dirty Dozen

Limited Edition 4K UHD

1967 · Directed by Robert Aldrich · United States edition

4K UHDPreorder

Robert Aldrich’s wartime mission film follows a group of prisoners recruited for a dangerous assignment. Arrow’s announced limited UHD pairs a new restoration with a book-based selection of writing and a separate extras disc. This entry is a preorder record rather than a hands-on review. The label’s November release date and specifications provide a basis for planning a purchase, while final delivery and availability remain subject to the publisher.

THE CURATOR’S NOTES

What makes this edition different?

The unusually varied audio options and historical supplements make this an edition to examine if you are interested in how a large-scale studio film was presented and promoted. The packaging also includes printed writing rather than simply a decorative outer sleeve. Because it is still a preorder in this catalog snapshot, there is no claimed playback assessment or first-hand judgment of the transfer. Read the final specifications when the disc ships, compare the UK and US versions if importing, and avoid treating an announced limited edition as a statement of a particular print quantity.
