DISC CURATOR

How we curate

Useful edition details, original guidance, and sources you can check for yourself.

Start with the exact release

Our unit of research is an edition: a particular label, territory, format, and package. A limited box and a standard case may share a disc while differing in books, artwork, or included film cuts. We avoid treating these as interchangeable products.

Use primary sources

Edition pages draw on official label specifications and release announcements where available. We include a source link and verification date so readers can assess the information in context. Our label profiles and collecting guides include relevant references.

Product artwork identifies the edition being discussed. Images and film artwork remain the property of their respective rights holders. Displayed wordmarks use text to identify labels; the companies do not sponsor or endorse Disc Curator merely by being included.

Be clear about the evidence

Research-based notes describe published features and explain their significance. They are not claims that we have watched, measured, or handled every release. We do not invent hands-on experience, reader reviews, ratings, or sales rankings. If we publish a first-hand review in the future, we will state the review method and any supplied review copy.

Keep availability in context

In print, sold out, back-order, preorder, and out of print are different conditions. A limited package can be discontinued while a standard edition remains available. Stock and release dates can change after we check a listing. Retailers provide the final price and purchase terms.

A stated print run applies to the identified edition, not necessarily to every release of the film. Scarcity alone does not establish quality or future resale value. We choose films and editions for their relevance to a collection rather than promises of appreciation.

Corrections and updates

We welcome sourced corrections. Contact us with the title, label, edition, and a link that supports the change. Material editorial revisions should be reflected in the page’s updated date. A source-check date records when the information was checked and is not a guarantee of current stock.

Commercial relationships

Commercial links and advertisements must be identifiable. A commission does not change what we say about a release. Read our affiliate and advertising disclosure for the current setup.
