88 Films

A place to start.

88 Films makes its collecting routes unusually visible through named catalog strands. Its shop includes 88 Asia, Japanarchy, The Italian Collection, Slasher Classics, and other groupings, alongside separate UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD browsing. These categories are helpful invitations to explore a particular filmmaking tradition, but each release still needs to be assessed on its own specifications.

For a first purchase, choose one strand connected to a film you already enjoy. Read the film description, then look for the versions, language tracks, subtitles, and supplements supplied. In genre cinema, alternate titles and different theatrical cuts can make apparently similar listings harder to compare. Keep the film year, director, label catalog number, and edition name together in your notes. Where a package includes a booklet, poster, slipcover, or other printed item, verify its presence in the copy being offered. A collection number can help organize the shelf without creating an obligation to buy every title in sequence. US and UK storefronts can provide different retail routes, so check the actual territory and compatibility before importing. That approach leaves room for adventurous discoveries while keeping the buying decision grounded in the film and edition you want.
