Shout! Factory

A place to start.

The Shout catalog brings several familiar collecting identities together. The current GRUV catalog separates Scream Factory, Shout Select, Hong Kong classics, and other areas, and it includes both Blu-ray and UHD categories. The company website reached through Shout Studios links shoppers to GRUV, so older bookmarks and historical retailer references may lead somewhere different from today's storefront.

For a collector, the important continuity is the actual edition. Preserve its releasing line, barcode, format, and disc count even when the retail destination changes. Scream Factory is the name to look for within the horror side of the catalog; Shout Select provides another useful browsing route. A collector's edition designation should prompt a contents comparison rather than an assumption about a numbered print run. Check the listed restoration, included cuts, original audio, and supplements. If an older photograph shows a slipcover or rigid outer case, confirm whether that particular seller includes it. This is especially useful for releases that have circulated in several packaging presentations. Buying the version that includes the extras you want is more reliable than matching only a familiar cover image.
